29 Local Farmer
Students attended a talk given by a local farmer who supplies fresh fruit and vegetables to the school canteen. During the presentation, they learned about the importance of choosing locally grown produce whenever possible and how local food systems support sustainable development. The farmer explained the many benefits of buying local products, including fresher food, reduced transportation emissions, support for local businesses, and a stronger connection between producers and consumers. Students also learned about the challenges and rewards of farming and the importance of responsible food choices. The activity included a tasting session, where students had the opportunity to sample a variety of locally grown fruits and vegetables. This experience helped them appreciate the quality and value of local produce while encouraging more sustainable eating habits.
