LEARNING TASK

Working in groups, students will explore examples of gender equality and inequality, analyze data and real-life cases, and design awareness actions promoting equality.

General competences

    Students actively engage in the learning process, reflect on their own attitudes and beliefs, assess new information critically, and identify areas where further learning is needed.

    Students analyze examples, data, and real-life situations related to gender equality and inequality, recognize patterns, and develop critical thinking skills.

    Students practice respectful communication, empathy, and cooperation, listen to different perspectives, and contribute positively to group discussions and shared tasks.

    Students build self-awareness and self-respect, develop a sense of fairness and justice, and strengthen their confidence to stand against discrimination and inequality.

Data charts, worksheets, internet access or printed materials, paper, markers, video (optional).

LEARNING ACTIVITIES

  1. Announcement of the lesson task.
    The teacher introduces the topic of gender equality and explains that students will explore equality, stereotypes, and ways to promote fairness and inclusion.
  2. Establishing discussion rules.
    The class agrees on rules for respectful dialogue, active listening, and expressing opinions without discrimination.
  3. Introduction to key concepts.
    Students are introduced to basic concepts such as equality, stereotypes, discrimination, and equal opportunities through examples, short texts, or images.
  4. Group exploration of real-life cases.
    Students work in groups to examine simple case studies, short scenarios, or statistical data related to gender equality in education, work, or everyday life.
  5. Awareness-action design.
    Each group designs an awareness-raising action (poster, short campaign, slogan, school activity) promoting gender equality and respect.
  6. Sharing and reflection.
    Groups present their work. A guided class discussion follows on attitudes, challenges, and how students can promote equality in their school and community.

REFLECTION. ASSESSMENT

Students reflect on learning outcomes and teamwork. Assessment based on participation, accuracy, and creativity.

 

APPENDIX 1 – Gender Equality Overview

Gender equality means that all people have the same rights, responsibilities, and opportunities, regardless of gender.
Key concepts: equality, stereotypes, discrimination, equal opportunities, respect, inclusion.

APPENDIX 2 – Work Procedure

  1. Students review short texts, images, or simple data related to gender equality and stereotypes.
  2. Students identify examples of equality and inequality in everyday life or society.
  3. Students create a poster or a short presentation promoting gender equality.
  4. Students propose an awareness-raising action that encourages respect and equal opportunities.
