LEARNING TASK

Students will explore the meaning of biodiversity and the importance of protecting land ecosystems. Through interactive digital tools and collaborative activities, they will identify environmental problems and design a simple digital poster presenting three practical actions to protect nature.

LEARNING ACTIVITIES

  1. Introduction – Word Cloud – 5 minutes

Students respond to the question “What comes to your mind when you hear Life on Land?” using Mentimeter.

  1. Interactive Video – 8 minutes

Students watch a short video about SDG 15 using Edpuzzle. They answer simple multiple-choice questions embedded in the video to check comprehension.

  1. Digital Matching Game – 10 minutes

Using Wordwall, students match environmental problems (ecosystem,deforestation, pollution, desertification, hunting, climate change) with corresponding images. Immediate feedback increases motivation and engagement.

  1. Collaborative Digital Task “3 Ways to Protect Nature” – 15 minutes

In small groups, students create a simple digital poster using Canva or Google Slides including:

  • Three practical actions to protect nature
  • At least three environmental vocabulary words in English
  • One relevant image

Students use sentence starters:

  • It is important to…
  1. Online Voting and Conclusion – 5 minutes

Students vote for the most practical solution using Mentimeter poll. The lesson concludes with a short discussion on how these actions can be applied in their daily lives.

 

REFLECTION. ASSESSMENT

Students complete their reflection by finishing the sentences on the exit ticket:

  • One new word I learned
  • One environmental problem
  • One action I will personally take

Reflection may be written digitally using Padlet or on paper.
